New Year Noise Maker Out of Paper Plates

Written by Paulo Martirez on Saturday, December 29, 2007

Fire crackers are sometimes dangerous. Here is a great New Year noise maker out of paper plates:

Materials Needed:
• 2 Paper Plates
• Crayons, Markers, or Paint
• Crepe Paper or Other Streamers
• Dried Beans
• Stapler or Tape
• Craft Stick
• Tape

Instructions:
1. Decorate the back sides of the paper plates with purple, green, and gold crayons, markers, or paint.
2. Tape or staple 1 - 2 foot long pieces of streamer around the outside edge of one of the decorated paper plates (attach them to the non-decorated side).
3. Put the paper plate with the streamers on the table, with the right side (non-decorated) up.
4. Tape a craft stick to the rim of the plate leaving out part of the stick for a handle.
5. Place the other paper plate on top of the first one, right side down. This will make a gap in the middle.
6. Start stapling the edges together, leaving an opening a few inches wide. Slide a handful of dried beans in between the paper plates.
7. Finish stapling them shut and your noise maker is complete!
