Making Spicy No-Salt Seasonings

Written by Paulo Martirez on Wednesday, March 12, 2008

Mix up a blend of your favorite dried herbs and spices to shake on foods instead of salt. Some possibilities include basil, bay leaf, chili powder, cinnamon, cumin, curry powder, dry mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, paprika, parsley, pepper, and thyme.

For a spicy treat, try some of this mixture on meat, chicken, or fish before cooking.

1/4 cup paprika
2 tablespoons oregano
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
